“Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord” -Psalm 150:6
The Music Ministry and worship at East Gadsden Baptist Church has as its main purpose to prepare the hearts of the church for the preached Word. We sing praises and lift our hearts to the Lord each and every week as we ourselves are also prepared for the anointing of His precious Word coming down through our Pastor. The sanctuary choir which sings every Sunday morning is made up of about 40 singers and they do a variety of different anthems from contemporary to traditional but mostly a great number of Southern Gospel numbers arranged for choir. The choir also does a great job in leading the song service for worship as well. The sanctuary choir performs 2 musicals each year at Christmas and Easter with an occasional patriotic musical around the 4th of July.
Another big part of our worship ministry is our tremendous student choir (New Commandment). They sing every Sunday night and do a great job leading us in worship. The student choir has sung in 27 different states in the last 10 years and they have sung in venues such as the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, The Alamo, Major league baseball parks, over 30 different churches, and countless restaurants during their summer choir tours. The choir tours are scheduled every summer and the youth do a great job preparing for the opportunities of ministry on these tours. The student choir is made up of about 30 7th through 12th graders with a sprinkling of outstanding college students thrown in for support and leadership.
Last but certainly not least is our more than precious children’s choir and our pre-school choir. This choir is made up of 1st through 6th graders and they do 2 musicals each year one at Christmas and one in the spring. They also sing in an occasional worship service as well. The pre-school choir sings in a worship service as well. These choirs are under the very capable leadership of Donna Dickinson, our Pastors wife.
As you can see there is a place in our music ministry for every member of your family. We would love to have you come be a part of this thriving ministry. Hope to see you in person soon.
